Claire Truss is an acupuncturist based in Loughton, Essex.
“My first experience of acupuncture was in 2004, when I sought out an acupuncturist for fertility issues. Having experienced the positive effects acupuncture can have, I decided it was something I wanted to study further. I had to delay my studies as I fell pregnant. I went straight to college after my second child started school.”
Claire studied acupuncture and naturopathy for 4 years with the College of Naturopathic Medicine (CNM) in London and post graduate studies include the addition of Chinese Herbal Medicine.
Claire was awarded “Overall academic and clinical results in Acupuncture” by CNM and she was also awarded a special “Prize for Excellence in TCM Study” by ATCM.
After graduating Claire set up practice in Buckhurst Hill, Essex and then moved to Loughton, Essex to allow her business to expand.
Post graduation, Claire volunteered in the North London Hospice acupuncture multi-bed clinic at Winchmore Hill for a year.
Besides her private practice, Claire has worked at City College of Acupuncture over 5 academic years. She initially assisted year 1 & 2 trainee acupuncturists in their anatomy, point location and practical technique classes, before being asked to lecture both year 1 & 2 anatomy & point location and year 3 business modules.
